JUNIUS CLAUD SNOW - Second Child and Eldest Son of Erastus White Snow and Margaret Alice McBride (m. Josie Price) .
Junius Claud was born January 9, 1897, in St. George, Washington County, Utah. His father, Erastus White Snow, was the son of Erastus Snow, one of the apostles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His mother, Margaret Alice McBride, was the youngest in the family of Robert McBride 3rd and Margaret Ann Howard.
By the year 1888 the Snow family had moved twice; first to Provo, Utah, in 1884, and then to Salt Lake City. When Junius Claud was eleven years old, then in Salt Lake City, his father died. By this time three daughters had been added to the family, Ethel, Edna and Lucille. (Three other children born earlier in St. George had died in infancy.) Available records, though incomplete, suggest that Salt Lake City is where Junius attended school and grew to maturity. At age twenty-three he married Josie Price; they had a family of three children.
Only a few additional facts are knows of the life of Junius Claude. He eventually went into the military and served two years is the Spanish American War. He and his wife were separated, whether before or after his military service is not known. He spent the latter years of his life in the veteran’s home in California, supposedly in San Fransisco; for that city is where he died, September 9, 1958, at age eighty-one.
Family/Spouse: Josephine Viola Price. Josephine was born on 29 Sep 1879 in Utah; died on 9 Sep 1958 in San Francisco, San Francisco, California, USA. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
