  • Notes
    • Nelson spent the greatest part of his life working with horses. He had a livery stable in San Jose for a time, buying and selling; his specialty was breaking and training horses. When his son, Fred, got old enough, he helped his father. They would go into Nevada, round up wild horses, and ship them to California. Nelson in his later years ran his brother's ranch near Bishop, with the help of Fred. Info from Linda Schaaf, his great-granddaughter.
