Notes |
- per Marg and Jince River boat pilot there is a "George Street" street lamp on Mississippi River - just above Alton.
CENSUS: 1880 TN Hardin ED 44 pg 5 George age 5, son, at home
Per Inez Glynn "the "George Street" street lamp is the 1st light below the mouth of the Ohio River (on the left bank). Inez says George STREET was a pilot for Mississippi Barge Line THIS I KNOW but NEVER NEVER ever remember him connected with a lady friend - if he had a date we certainly didn't know it - or was gone from home"
DEATH: Certificate in file Vol 044 Cert 21811 deathvol 33 shows NO SPOUSE no residence listed cause of death Pernicious anemia. At the bottom of the cert "undertaker" is X'd out for some reason and the name Mattil Effinger and Roth, Paducah, KY is in that spot. lists occupation as Steamboat Pilot and Captain. it lists mother's maiden name as SARAH MORRISON (very curious). The informant is John Street, his brother, so should be very reliable info!!
