  • Notes
    • DEATH: 21 Dec 1801, Henry Powellson was appointed guardian of the orphans of Joseph Pancake, deceased. NOTE: This may or may not mean that his wife, Elizabeth, was deceased.

MARRIAGE: Hardy County, Virginia Marriage Records.

MARRIAGE: Col. Max Davis, said that Joseph was married twice and that his first wife was named ________ Dugan. Although there was a Dugan in the area at the time, I have not found anything to support this, except that Joseph was over 30 when he got married to Elizabeth Hyder.

PROBATE: 19 Jul 1799 -- Executor of his father's will made a motion with his brother, John, to settle probate.
