Notes |
- 1900 Census has the family moved to Anaheim, Orange Co., CA, living with Elise Harrison, born June, 1872, listed as a daughter, along with Lydia Harrison, born March 1892, listed as a granddaughter. The Harrisons derived from Andrew Hays' first marriage to a woman from Mexico. Also living with them was James C. Hays, an Uncle born in June 1821, and Mon Joe, a Chinese servant, born in 1865.
Stuart, May, and Irene were the last in line for the John Guy Vassar estate (founder of Vassar College). Each received 25 cents for their inheritance in 1888.
Stuart, May, and Irene lived with their Aunt, Nola Hampton, after their mother's death in 1890 while Andrew made and lost fortunes.
In 1880, had four servants living with them in Poughkeepsie, NY.
