From Goochland County Deed Book 24, p.273: On May 15, 1820, signed power of attorney to his nephew John Perkins: "I, Grief Perkins, of Goochland Co., in Va., intending shortly to go to the western country". Moved to Logan County, KY. Logan County Court Records, 4 Jul 1825, p.177 - Grief Perkins produced his commission and certificate of qualification as a justice of the peace for Logan County which was ordered to be herewith filed.

James Perkins was executor for estate; also for Isaac O. Perkins and A.G. Hopson as Grief Perkins had been their executor. Settlements in 1841 recorded according to Court Orders.
