- Andrew "...was the first editor, in connection with Roger A. Pryor, of the Southside Democrat, published at Petersburg [VA], and was afterward editor of the Cincinnati Enquirer; in 1857 he was defeated as the Democratic candidate for clerk of the National House of Representatives by General Cullom. In 1858, he was, with General Stedman, elected public printer, and during the Confederate War was adjutant general on the staff of Genl. J. E.
