American Revolution

Silas Stetson of Scituate in Plymouth County for nine months from their arrival at Fishkill (NY) in Capt. Joseph Stetson's Company, Col. Cushing's Regiment. Described as age 19 years, stature 5 ft, 8 in, complexion dark. Arrived at Fishkill on 22 Jun 1778

Private in Capt. Jacob Wales' Company, Col. Thomas Marshall's Regiment appears on muster rolls for Jan and Mar 1779 dated West Point (NY). Enlisted for nine months, 22 Jun 1778, to 21 Mar 1779 and reported at Tarrytown (NY) in January 1779.

Silas had other services to his credit (MA Records), including a secret expedition to Rhode Island in 1777 when he marched with the militia to Tiverton.
