In 1674, Dorman, ye Irishman, was included in a List of the Names of persons ratable returned by Tho. Bingley, Constable, of Boston. Tax Lists of Boston, in Town Books, Vol. 1.71. Apparently, it was only after he had acquired property that his full name was recorded; from 1675 to 1688 Derman Maroone, Dorman Morrean or Dorman Mareen was on Muddy River Valuation, and was assessed for taxes on oxen, bulls and cowes, heyfors and steers, horses and mares and six acres of land. Ibid, Vol. 1, pp. 56, 12, 145.72. A Brookline historian states that Dorman Morean was one of the original grantees of Muddy River, History of the Town of Brookline, Mass., by John Gould Curtis, p. 116, Boston, 1933.73. Under date of 20. 3. 1681, there was recorded in the Roxbury parish register the burial of a young infant of Dorman Mareene, an Irishman living at Muddy River, Roxbury Church Records, in Boston Town Books, Vol. 6, p. 184.74 and under 1684 there are mentioned in the church records Elizabeth, Philip and William Mareen and Mary and Rebeca Murreene, all children of Dorman Mareene.
