Joseph Hamilton Daviess, who was a first cousin to my gggrandfather, married Nancy Marshall in Kentucky in 1803. At the time he was Federal Prosecutor for Kentucky, appointed by John Adams. In 1807 he attempted to indict Aaron Burr for treason, but failed when his witnesses hid out. He was head of William Henry Harrison's cavalry at Tippecanoe, and was killed leading a charge against the Indians. Very brave and also very foolish. Counties are named for him in KY, IN, IL and MO.

Joseph married Nancy Marshall in 1803. Nancy (daughter of Thomas Marshall and Mary Randolph Keith) was born about 1781; died in 1860. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
