    Notes:

    One of the early Methodist preachers in County of Albemarle, entering the ministry some years before the close of the eighteenth century. He was a signer of the Albemarle Declaration of Independence April 2, 1779. He married Henrietta Rodes, a daughter of John Rodes and Sarah Harris his wife. He died in 1815.
