2. | William H. Brown was born on 8 Apr 1840 (son of Horace Brown and Lucy E. Parrott). Notes:
William H. Brown was wounded in the Valley Campaign during the Civil War and had to be brought home. The other brothers being in the war, there was no one to brave the dangers. So Oscar L. Brown, son Bernard L. Brown, a boy of about 12 years with a colored servant in the family carriage made the hazardous trip and brought him safely home. William H. Brown d.7/28/190___.

Bernard L. Brown attended this marriage of Horace Brown and Lucy Parrott in Green County and says the night of the wedding there was a great Meteoric Shower. This shower was observed in many parts of the United States of America.

They lived at the head of the cove (Browns) just beneath Browns Gap. His house, on account of the bracing air and quiet seclusion and generous fare was a favorite resort of the Methodist Clergy during the heat of the summers.
