14. | Edward Pye Chamberlayne was born in 1758 in King William County, Virginia, USA (son of Thomas Chamberlayne and Wilhelmina Byrd); died in 1806 in King William County, Virginia, USA. Notes:
BIOGRAPHY: Entered as midshipman in 1776; 2nd Lt., 177 and 1778; in 1781 bore a part in taking two of the enemy's vessels off the coast of S.C. and went with one of them as supercargo into some part of N.C. USP, Benj. Figg, who stated that he had lived for nearly two years in the same house with Lt. Chamberlayne, remembered having seen him in uniform with other officers at Frazer's Ferry subsequent to the siege of York. In USP is the petition of Wm. Byrd Chamberlayne, Lewis W. Chamberlayne, James Edward Ruffin, sole heir of Eliz. B. Ruffin, and Robert and Mary A. Williamson, only heirs of Lucy Parke Williamson.
BIOGRAPHY: Lieutenant in the State navy and received land warrants for three years service.
