He was a member of the Methodist Church and served on its Board of Directors. His wife, Helen Davis Moody, was a B.S. graduate of the Univ. of Oklahoma.

David John Davis, was a business man, owner of dry goods business and hotels. He was a 33d Degree Mason and a past Master of Greenwood., Arkansas Lodge. He was active on the Board of the Methodist Church and was Chairman of the local draft board, World War I in Greenwood, Ark. Bessie Gaines., wife of Mr. Davis, attended Galloway College of Searcy, Ark. and taught school in Greenwood for several years. She now (1971) lives with her daughter, Elizabeth, Mrs. Harold W. Aldridge, in Manchester, Okla.
