- Dr Henry Benskin Christian Harris b 3 February 1825 Powhatan County, Virginia son of Hiram Harris and Margaret Christian. He was educated in the common schools of Powhatan County, and then sent to school in Caroline County, Virginia before being sent to New York to study medicine at Jefferson college. He was left land and a slave in his Grandfather Henry Benkin Christian Will at the age of about 6. After graduating from medical school He went West first to St. Louis Missouri and after spending 6 months there he left for westrn Missouri and settled in the town of Weston in Platte County, Missouri which at that time was the outfitting town on the Missouri River for settlers heading West. He practiced medicine there with a George Harris. He married his first wife in Platte County, Missouri 20 May 1850 She was Sally Calvert daughter of Lewis Calvert and Martha Herndon who had moved to Platte County, Missouri from Knox County, Kentucky. Lewis Calvert was in the Missouri legislature. Dr Henry B C Harris and Sally Calvert had l. Rebecca D Harris b 20 May 1852 in Missouri she married 15 Dec 1869 in Platte County, Missouri to Spencer L Barnes. 2. child Harris b1853/4 died infancy 3. Hiram Henry Harris b 31 July 1855 in Missouri married l. 20 Dec 1876 Betty Fountleroy married 2. 4 March 1881 Melissa A Parker and married 3 Corda---------------- 4. child Harris died infancy child 5. Martha W. Harris b 7 August 1859 in Kickapoo, Leavenworth County, Kansas she married Jesse Gordon Roach 1855-1937 6. Catherine B. Harris b August 1861 Kickapoo Leavenworth County, Kansas married William T. Barnett 7. James Clay Harris b 16 October 1868 in Leavenworth Kansas. He married l. 10 Jan 1885 Mary Anderson and 2. 20 July 1897 in Buchanan County, Missouri to Sarah A. Farris.
Dr, Henry B. C. Harris into service in the Civil War as a Dr. on the Confederate side. He married 2. May 2 1869 in Platte County, Missouri to Elizabeth Ann Daniels daughter of Jesse Daniels and Mary Burgess. Jesse Daniels left for the West and gold seeking taking his son Jesse Jr. with him they were both heard of last on the Kansas territorial census of 1855 living in South Park, Arapahoe County NOW COLORADO Elizabeth Anns mother married 2. A., B Owens of Weston then another Daniels in Missouri Then divorced him in Clay County, Missouri

Pauline B Harris b 20 April 1873 died 29 October 1874 in Buchanan co Mo. 3 Robert D Harris b 31 March 1875 died 8 October 1875 in Buchanan County, Missouri 4. Sarah Tilden Harris b 9 September 1875 died 1952 Buchanan County, Missouri married James Henry Brown 1869-1949 son of John Brown and Louisa Martin 5, Wn Henry Harris (later called himself Hiram Henry Harris b 7 May 1879 married after 1900 Buchanan County, Missouri to Anna E. Ogden 1884-1941 Wm Henry Harris died 1944 and their family is buried Old Campground cemetery on Platte Buchanan County, line 6 Mary Harris MY GRANDMOTHER b 15 June 1880 married 3 January 1900 in Buchanan co Mo. to Robert Granville Gaunt younger brother of James A Gaunt above. she died on 3 February 1938 in Shenandoah Iowa. 7.
